The claim
Headlines say the iPhone Duo, Apple's first foldable, "keeps cracking". Bloomberg collected complaints about screens failing after hours or days, with a loud crunch followed by a crack, and 404 Media wrote about deep creases down the middle of the $2,000 display.
What is solid and what is not
The problem is real: Apple itself told Bloomberg it is aware of an issue with the inner display on a small number of units. But the phrase "keeps cracking" suggests a pattern across the product, and nothing published supports that yet.
No one has given a count of complaints. "Small number" is Apple's own wording, not an independent measurement. The reports are secondhand and come from early adopters who are the most vocal group by default. No cause has been named, and there is no information on warranty or repair terms.
How to read it
Foldables have a history of early hinge and screen trouble, so the story is believable. That is a reason to wait for numbers, not to assume the worst. If you plan to buy, look for teardown findings, repair policy and a few weeks of reports from a larger group of owners. Until then this is a confirmed defect of unknown size, not proof that the whole line is fragile.
